X-PRT™ 90 for FN PS90
The X-PRT™ 90 (formerly marketed as FRT90) is a purpose-built cross progressive reset trigger system developed by Dorin Technologies exclusively for the FN PS90 platform. Utilizing proprietary internal geometry and a patent-pending mechanical design, the X-PRT 90 replaces key factory fire-control components and adds a dedicated reset component to enable a true 3-position selector configuration: Safe, Semi, and Forced Reset. This system allows the shooter to select standard semi-automatic operation or semi-automatic operation with a progressive forced-reset mechanism, enabling exceptional trigger pull speed while maintaining full control, consistent ergonomics, and one trigger pull per round fired.
3-Position Selector: Safe (S) / Semi (1) / Forced Reset (F)
The X-PRT 90 utilizes a proprietary 3-position selector engineered specifically for the PS90 platform:
- Safe (S) — Mechanical safety blocks trigger movement.
- Semi (1) — Standard PS90 semi-automatic operation.
- Forced Reset (F) — Progressive reset functionality is available when the trigger is pulled fully through the activation range. Partial trigger pulls in this position behave as standard semi-automatic fire.
Distinct detents and defined selector travel provide clear tactile feedback and consistent handling.
Semi-Automatic Operation with Selectable Forced Reset
The X-PRT 90 is engineered around the PS90’s unique fire-control geometry to deliver predictable performance across selector positions:
- Standard semi-automatic operation — Conventional trigger function with one pull per shot.
- Forced-reset operation — The trigger is mechanically driven forward after each shot when fully actuated, allowing faster follow-up shots while still requiring a separate pull for each round fired.

- 17-4 stainless steel hammer — Replaces the factory polymer hammer; heat treated and nitrided.
- 17-4 stainless steel out-of-battery sear — Replaces the factory polymer sear; heat treated and nitrided.
- 6061 aluminum 3-position selector — Hard anodized; replaces the factory polymer 2-position selector.

All 17-4 stainless components are heat treated and nitrided for durability, wear resistance, and long-term consistency.
Compatibility
- FN PS90 only with a factory-configured semi-automatic trigger pack.

Installation & Setup
The X-PRT 90 installs into the PS90 trigger pack using the included installation jig. Professional installation by a qualified gunsmith is recommended but not required. All safety and function checks must be performed before live fire.
Operating Limitation
DRY FIRE NOT RECOMMENDED; repeated trigger cycling without a cartridge or snap cap can cause damage.
