The Imperial Arms MTM (Mil-Spec Trigger Module) is a groundbreaking solution for SCAR owners who want to break free from proprietary trigger limitations. By adapting the SCAR platform to accept standard mil-spec AR triggers, the MTM delivers a new level of customization and control.

Broad Compatibility

The MTM is designed to accept most mil-spec AR-15 triggers, including many binary and forced reset triggers (FRTs). This allows you to tailor the trigger feel, weight, and reset characteristics to your exact preference.

Note: Some fitting with may be required. Drop-In Auto Sears (DIAS) are not compatible with the MTM due to the wide variability in their design and geometry.

Coming Soon: 2- and 3-Position Super Safety Interface

BBC Integration for Advanced Trigger Compatibility

The MTM interfaces directly with the Imperial Arms Buffered Bolt Carrier (BBC), which is precision-machined to include integrated sear trip provisions. When used together, the MTM and BBC enable compatibility with advanced fire control systems such as binary triggers, forced reset triggers (FRTs), and the upcoming 2- and 3-position Super Safety selector system. This level of integration is only possible within the Cypher System—ensuring smooth operation and safe, reliable performance.

Availability, Specs & Model Support

The Imperial Arms MTM is currently available for the SCAR 17S and SCAR 20S, with support for the SCAR 16S and SCAR 15P planned for future development. As part of the Cypher System, the MTM is built for long-term compatibility and modularity across SCAR and Cypher platforms.

Each MTM is precision-machined from 7075-T6 aluminum and finished with a rugged anodized coating for durability and corrosion resistance. It also accepts SR25/AR-10 magazines, giving you greater flexibility in magazine selection and capacity.

Sear Trip Options

The Imperial Arms MTM (Mil-Spec Trigger Module) interfaces directly with the Buffered Bolt Carrier (BBC) to enable a range of advanced fire control options. The MTM provides the structural trigger interface, while the BBC is selectively provisioned for sear trip functionality based on the intended trigger configuration.

Available and planned sear trip options include:

• M16 Sear Trip – Designed exclusively for use by licensed 07/02 FFL/SOT manufacturers qualified to produce NFA-regulated machine guns. Not for civilian use.
• FRT Interface – Optimized for compatibility with Wide Open Trigger (WOT) and Rare Breed FRT systems.
• Upcoming Designs – Additional sear trip geometries are in development to support other FRT variants and the future Super Safety selector systems.

The MTM interfaces with the Buffered Bolt Carrier (BBC) to enable advanced fire control functionality. The BBC itself is selectively provisioned with sear trip geometry, but that geometry only functions in conjunction with a compatible MTM and appropriate trigger setup. It’s the combination of these components—the MTM, the BBC, and the selected fire control group—that determines overall compatibility and performance. Some configurations may require professional fitting, and all installations must comply with applicable laws and regulations.

Unsupported Trigger Modules

While other aftermarket SCAR trigger modules exist, they are not part of the Cypher System and are not supported by Imperial Arms. These third-party modules may not meet the dimensional or mechanical requirements necessary for proper function with Cypher components like the BBC or Super Safety selector. Only the MTM has been purpose-built for total compatibility within the Cypher architecture and offers a proven, forward-compatible platform for serious users looking to get the most out of their SCAR or Cypher build.
